Before & After

This was last weeks challenge over at iSpy Weekly Challenge on Flickr:

I’m having a lot of fun lately with actions and textures. I love that you can have an image and completely change it around with a little post processing. So….let’s some a couple of your favorite shots altered. Be sure to show the before and after.

Here is what I came up with:

A Little Piece of History

Posted in Uncategorized by Sarah Skeen on January 19, 2009

This is our iSpy challenge over on Flickr this week:

This week will be a pivital moment in US history and I am humbled to be able to witness it (no matter what your political beliefs are). Show me something historical. Whether it’s a building, a monument, or a treasured family heirloom.

This is a little piece of history from our family that is now my my most treasured posession. A locket that my grandmother used to wear around her neck every day. It opens to reveal 4 pictures: my great grandmother and grandfather, my great uncle, and my grandfather.

I was contacted not long ago by an artist who stumbled upon my blog about using this photo for a painting:

The artist is Matt Holton of Holton Gallery. I gave him permission and today I received Flickr mail telling me that he had completed a study. Here is the study he completed:

Guess What It Is

Posted in Uncategorized by Sarah Skeen on November 20, 2008

That’s our new challenge over on Flickr….
Take a picture of something normal or everyday from a different angle, such that you’ll be able to make people guess what it is. You know how sometimes in magazines they have those pages where you have to guess what the picture is. I hope this is ok. If you have any questions please ask. Shoot away!

Here are mine….these items are everyday items in our home but I’m not sure you would see them in every home 🙂

Self Portrait

Posted in Uncategorized by Sarah Skeen on November 12, 2008

Our most recent challenge of at iSpy Weekly Challenge was to do a self portrait. This was hard for me because I hate getting my picture taken and I tend to be very self conscious. So, here is what I came up with:

Parts

Posted in Uncategorized by Sarah Skeen on October 4, 2008

These shots were taken for the most recent challenge over at iSpy

The challenge was to take photos of parts of the subject instead of the entire subject whether it be focusing on a specific part or a macro shot…..here are my interpretations of the challenge:

Lily’s been framed!

So, our new challenge over on Flickr at iSpy Weekly Challenge was this:
Frame your subject within the image frame with a door, window, tree branches, or wherever else you see a frame.

Here is my first take on the challenge:
