Our Terrarium

Posted in Uncategorized by Sarah Skeen on August 9, 2008

Lily and I spent some time making a terrarium today. We have tons of moss around the house so I thought it would be nice to have some of that indoors. It was really easy to do too! We put a layer of pebbles on the bottom, a layer of sand and peat moss, a thick layer of potting soil, and then we arranged our moss and ferns. Really easy and makes a beautiful decoration. You only need to mist it with a water bottle once a day…maybe twice.

How lovely! I wonder if one would survive here on Maui? We have moss growing, but way up the hill..like hours of windy roads away. It’s alike a forest up there..so beautiful. I would love to bring some of it down. I’m defintely going to remember this if I’m up that way again!

It is quite beautiful. Nice arrangement of Moss, Ferns and stones! A lot of people tend to forget that small stones can be an aesthetic addition to the terrarium – nice!
