Monarch Caterpillars Report

Both of the caterpillars have shed. When they shed they stay still in the same spot for almost a day. They can’t eat when they are shedding because the face part has to come off before they can. The first caterpillar which is the bigger one is growing so quickly…it’s amazing to see how much he eats in a day. Once he is full grown he will eat about 4 whole milkweed leaves in one day! Seth says that I should name them but I just can’t come up with any names. Any suggestions? šŸ™‚

    Wormy, Stripey, Chubby? Those are the names Nicky and I came up with. You better go pick some more milkweed. LOL. Why do they have anteni on both ends? That’s so cool that you can see where it ate the leaf! Great pics!
